How To Host a Coastal Meet-Up Webinar

Become a community scientist by observing coastal flooding in your community!

Climate change and sea level rise are already driving our high tides higher, causing coastal floods up and down the shores of Maine. In April and May, we’ll see some of the highest predicted tides of the year. In order to adapt to rising tides, we need to increase our understanding of what water level and weather conditions lead to local flooding. That’s where you come in!

Through this webinar, learn how to lead a group in contributing observational data to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute’s Coastal Flooding Community Science Project. Whether you work for a land trust, volunteer on your town's sustainability committee, or are looking for a way to get involved in local climate action, this training will give you the tools to collect valuable data that can be used to inform near- and long- term emergency preparedness and climate decisions, bringing us closer to a climate-resilient and thriving future.
